   “International travel requires an adaptive style of the Plein Air technique and I met that challenge during a solo trip in 2008.  Designing a feather-light system by painting in a journal, I was able to navigate an ever-changing imagery that unfolded each day.                 It evolved into a resourceful approach with creative techniques that I entitled ‘Paintbooks’.  More than a thumbnail sketch tool, they are actual works of art, where the pages come alive with insights for larger formats.”

  Since 1984, Cherry has explored internationally and led workshops from an artist’s point of view.  She will share these innovations with a variety of water-based paints, origami, calligraphy, nature imprinting, color harmony and cohesive design plans. Tuition includes daily demos, personal guidance, pre-workshop instruction, some unique art supplies and a blank paintbook to fill up with artistic treasures from Costa Brava..

    Here's some photo's from the days I spent in the classroom and on the quad last Fall, demonstrating and working long with the students.  They didn't ask many questions and I was surprised how well they set up their easels and focused on their artworks!  They enjoyed the process and I hope that I have inspired them to continue painting throughout their lives.
